Yoga for the Workplace

Customized Yoga for Corporate Groups and more

Most Americans’ average work week is increasing past 40 hours and with it, the level of stress. Stress impacts our health, mental capacity, and moral, thereby decreasing productivity and ultimately affecting the work environment. This has a negative impact on both the Employee (i.e. repetitive stress injuries and musculoskeletal disorders) and the Employer (i.e. increasing absenteeisms and benefits expenses).

The good news? Yoga can absolutely help. The practice of Yoga can be modified to suit the needs of any and all levels. And best of all, you can even practice it in your office chair!

Aside from teaching yoga, Wendy spent 15 years working in Corporate America and understands the needs of bodies that sit at computers all day and those seeking balance throughout their busy days. Additionally, Wendy provides:

  • 15 years experience teaching yoga, including specialized practices to infuse an awareness for preventing strain and injuries, as well as stress management/stress reduction tools.
  • Certification of General Liability Insurance (for your peace of mind)
  • Some of the yoga equipment, excluding yoga mats (although in most cases, a few mats can initially be provided)

To learn more about bringing yoga into your workplace, adding yoga to a wellness program, or to schedule a complimentary introductory group class contact Wendy.

Wendy is extremely adept at putting together group classes for mixed levels, where each person feels they are receiving exactly what they need.

Divine Spark Yoga was the longtime resident yoga service at Center Theatre Group in downtown Los Angeles. Wendy has also taught corporate yoga during tax season at RBZ Accounting in West LA, to the teachers/staff of Camino Nuevo Charter Academy & the Westside JCC, employees of Disney Animation and participants of the Roy and Patricia Disney Family Cancer Center at Providence St. Joseph. She has been teaching 2x per week at Hankey Investment Company for the past three+ years.

“I’ve practiced yoga on and off for quite a few years, and Wendy is the only instructor that I really look forward to having every week, and kept me motivated to keep practicing!

“Wendy’s always considerate in asking all the students at the beginning of each class if anyone is suffering from pain/tension, injuries, etc., and will customize the session based on our requests. She’s also great in keeping a close eye on each of the students, and offering gentle adjustments to our poses. Wendy is the most personable instructor, has a great sense of humor, and we all love the “spark” she brings to every single class!”

“Since I work in IT and stare at a computer all day, you can only imagine my posture. Wendy has worked with me on this issue (and my damn tight hamstrings) during our after work yoga classes here at Center Theatre Group.  There’s been a noticeable difference in my body and the way I carry myself.

“Wendy has a wonderful way of communicating what you should be feeling in order to achieve the correct positioning of the pose. What’s really great is that her class is perfect for all levels of yoga practice because she can give modifications and props for beginners or offer advanced variations if you are far more flexible than me. But what’s really the best part? Wendy came to us. Can’t beat that.”
